PREPRESS / DTP

Our prepress / graphic design work covers all operations required to prepare your files for printing, and to produce plates for offset printing when needed.
It is a key stage in the success of your projects, as it ensures that the final result matches your expectations.

The efficiency of our prepress / graphic design department not only guarantees a high-quality result during printing and finishing, but also helps you save time and money.
This includes identifying and correcting file issues such as image resolution, bleed, margins, fonts, colour management, layout and more.

To ensure the highest level of support, reliability and speed, each of our production sites has its own dedicated prepress / graphic design department.
Furthermore, our workflow is fully integrated, smooth and secure — from receiving your PDF files to imaging offset plates when required, thanks to our expert teams and the efficient interfaces we provide.
Every step of our process is optimised to offer you the best quality-to-price ratio, and our teams are here to support you throughout the preparation of your files before printing.

Once your files have been checked and prepared by our teams, a proof will be made available to you (digital and/or printed, as requested), allowing you to perform a final review and validation of your files.
Your approval of the proof marks the start of production of your book or document.

PROCESS

  1. Your files are transferred to our servers over a fibre connection, via FTP or through your online customer area.
  2. Using GMG ColorServer enables us to standardise colour reproduction.
  3. Our teams check and prepare your files for printing.
  4. We send you certified contract proofs. Certification is carried out on a job-by-job basis by an external control, using FOGRA measurements. Among other tools, we use the Colorpath proofing certification software integrated into our Fuji XMF workflow. We commit to printing your book in reference to this certified proof (BAT).
  5. For offset printing, once the BAT has been approved, we image the offset plates using a latest-generation CTP (up to 64 plates/hour). These plates are then handed over to the printing department.
Your customer area allows you to:
  • Communicate directly and easily with your dedicated Prepress / DTP contact
  • Track the progress of your job in real time
  • Approve your BAT (proof for print).
