Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR):
(Definition by the European Commission)
Responsibility of enterprises for their impacts on society.
Companies can become socially responsible by:
Since its creation, Sepec has been committed to a long-term and sustainable business approach.
In this respect, we strive to work intelligently, ethically and efficiently, with a mindset of continuous improvement.
CSR, now a widely used concept, has until recently been relatively absent from our communication, because for us it is a long-standing, fully integrated approach in the way we work, based above all on common sense – social, environmental and economic.
We believe that a sustainable and high-performing company is one that constantly improves its efficiency while caring for its teams, its environment and its clients. This philosophy, applied on a daily basis for many years, guides our actions and choices and makes us a reliable partner.
Here is an overview of some aspects of our commitments and our identity:
We are PEFC certified, guaranteeing that our paper stocks come from sustainably managed forests. The PEFC label assures consumers that the product they purchase comes from responsible sources and that, through their buying choices, they contribute to sustainable forest management.
We are also Imprim’Vert certified, demonstrating our commitment to more sustainable and responsible printing practices. The Imprim’Vert label requires concrete actions, notably regarding waste management, the secure storage of hazardous liquids, environmental awareness initiatives, and the monitoring of energy consumption.
We are ClimateCalc certified, a tool that enables us to precisely measure the carbon footprint of each project by accounting for the entire product lifecycle. The ClimateCalc certification confirms that both the data and the carbon footprint calculations have been verified annually by an independent external auditor. This tool allows us to monitor our carbon impact, identify areas for improvement, and advise our clients—guiding them, when relevant, towards more eco-responsible choices.
As part of our energy transition and efficiency strategy, in March 2025 we equipped our Péronnas site (home to Sepec and Sepec Numérique) with more than 2,000 m² of solar panels. As a result, 14% of our annual energy needs will be covered by solar power. In addition, the future Sepec Numérique site, whose construction will start at the end of 2025 in Péronnas (Ain), will also be fitted with a large photovoltaic surface.

We recover the heat produced by certain presses (XL 106) and by some equipment (compactors and compressors) to heat our production workshop.
We use vegetable-oil based inks for all our traditional offset production (as opposed to mineral-oil based inks derived from petrochemicals).
Our inkjet digital printing process uses water-based inks.
We work with specialised partners for the recycling and treatment of our waste (paper/cardboard, scrap metal, plastic, wood, chemical products).
In 2024, around 2,500 tonnes of paper and cardboard were recycled.
We regularly invest in the latest-generation presses and equipment, which are increasingly efficient and less energy-intensive. This allows us to continuously improve our efficiency and quality, while reducing our energy consumption. Ongoing modernisation also helps us significantly reduce waste and production spoilage.
All our production is carried out in France, and subcontracting is limited to specific, exceptional operations. This particularity helps to minimise the environmental impact of our production by drastically reducing the share of transport in the manufacturing and delivery process. In addition, we can deliver a job to multiple delivery addresses directly from our plants, eliminating certain intermediate stages.
The commitment of our employees is our greatest strength, and we strive to provide a caring, fair and fulfilling work environment. Far from being a mere communication angle, this is a crucial aspect for us. Trust and autonomy are at the heart of our organisation, and we support each employee in the success of their missions and their career development, through an active policy of listening, training and internal mobility. We encourage transparency, direct communication, cross-functional collaboration and initiative-taking.
Safety and well-being are core values guiding our day-to-day approach. For several years, we have been implementing initiatives to create a work environment that is ergonomic, safe and respectful of everyone’s needs, in our offices as well as in our production workshops.
To prevent musculoskeletal disorders and other risks of injury and discomfort, our workshops are equipped with specific and innovative solutions.
For example, we use lifting tables, enabling our teams to work at optimal heights and thus limiting poor posture and harmful physical strain, as well as robots and automatic palletisers to reduce the handling of heavy and repetitive loads.
These systems allow our employees to focus on higher value-added tasks while benefiting from a more comfortable and safer working environment.
To better protect our teams from noise exposure, we also provide them with custom-moulded hearing protection.
The strong human values shared within our company also benefit our partners and customers. We are convinced that caring and transparent interactions are essential to building long-term, high-quality and trust-based relationships. Our sales and production teams listen carefully to our customers and support them as efficiently and transparently as possible, helping them make informed decisions.
